Ashton blinks in disbelief. Wha...What is...*sigh* Ashton looks up at the sky and his head starts spinning. Ashton passes out on the ground and nothing can be heard but the sound of the howling wind. Knowing that she should get help, the young girl calls for a paramedic and tells them that Ashton is in need of help. Scared for herself but mostly for this man, she gives the paramedics the address where they could find him and she hangs up the phone. With an odd, yet very strong, and strange sensation overcoming her, she prays that Ashton will be safe. Upon hearing the paramedics approach she runs into the dark of the night. Ashton wakes up at St. Mary's Hospital in the late afternoon. He looks around the room and everything seems normal. His head pounds as he tries to remember last night but he remembers nothing.
He looks at the clock which reads 3:00pm.
How long have I been out? he says...
What day is it? He wonders. He tries to get up but a nurse walks in tells him to lie back down. She seems familiar to him. He asks for her name to which she kindly replies...
"Hello, my name is Cassie", Do you remember what happened last night?
Sadly Ashton says no but he continues to stare at Cassie. He tries his hardest to remember her but his head starts spinning again.
She blushes as he stares at her but finally she says...
"Your free to go if you feel like your up to it"
He tries to stand but his head continues spinning. Cassie is nice enough to help him get dressed as he tries to think of who she is.
Have I seen you around somewhere? He asks.
A stud like you I would remember she says but then she also says that he ought to call somebody to come pick him up.
I have no family he sadly says.
I'm sorry is her only reply....
Well then let me call you a cab so you can get home she finally says after a few minutes.
Thanks, Ashton says as a look between them lingers for a second too long.
As she turns away and blushes again Ashton can't help but notice how attractive she is. As he stumbles towards the door, Cassie rushes to his side to help him. With her hands gently on his broad shoulders, the kind gesture makes her blush again for the third time and he gives her a sly smile.
She gets a wheelchair for him to sit in and helps wheel him to the elevator.
Go to the lobby to sign your release forms and please remember to be more careful next time, Cassie says.
As the elevator doors close that same look lingers between them. Cassie just stars at the elevator door for the moment and can't believe that she had easily let her guard down for this man. She think it silly to blush and act like a little girl in front of him even though she knows she will probably never see him again.
With the release forms signed, a cab called and his home his destination, he still can't get Cassie out of his mind. He tries to remember last night and tries to place where he has seen her before but again he remembers nothing.
He finally reaches his home somewhat sober. He takes a shower as his mind continuously wonders about Cassie. He smiles at remembering the way that she blushed at him. Finally showered he wonders into the kitchen for something to eat as well as some aspirin. In nothing but a towel he sits on the bar stool and grabs an apple from the table. He sits there for several minutes loudly munching on the apple and rubbing his head. He then walks over to the refrigerator for a bottle of water and swallows the aspirin. Although having just eaten only an apple he walks into the bedroom, throws on some sweat pants and takes a nap in his bed. He allows his mind to wonder about Cassie and soon he falls sound asleep.
